Tailormade Expressive Arts AOLE Workshops for schools

Are you looking to include more Drama as part of your pupils' experience and learning in the Expressive Arts AoLE in the Curriculum for Wales? Are you unsure about how to meet this AoLE and want to see a Drama lesson in action or are you unsure on how the What Matters Statements and progression steps are explored in a classroom?


Shine Drama Workshops will plan and deliver a tailormade workshop for your class on any theme or topic of your choosing, with Drama and the Expressive Arts AoLE at their heart. All workshops are designed and delivered by our founder, Jo, a qualified and specialist Drama teacher with over 15 years experience of working with children from all key stages both in and out of the classroom.


What does each workshop include?

We support children in becoming ambitious, capable learners and in every workshops we ensure your pupils -


1. Have many opportunities to explore, create and respond to Drama. we are always able to show you which What Matters Statements we are covering in every activity.

2. Develop knowledge of techniques, drama skills, genres and styles.


3. Explore your chosen topic across the curriculum, perfectly marrying multiple areas of learning in the Curriculum for Wales.


4. Have opportunities to develop problem solving, presentation and team work skills, self-esteem and self-confidence.


5. Supported in developing a growth mindset alongside enhancing specific subject or topic skills and knowledge.


We use a mixture of tried and tested drama techniques, drama games, role play, facilitators in role and open ended scenario exploration and all workshops have the Curriculum for Wales and "Cynefin" at their core.


We discuss your class/es needs before the workshop and give each class teacher a copy of the workshop plan which details the proposed activities and link to - The What Matters Statements
