I hope everyone has had a good Christmas. At Shine Drama Workshops we have had a lovely break and are now working hard preparing for 2022 and all the sessions and events we have planned.
But …., we couldn't say farewell to this year without saying a massive well done to all of the children in our Junior Sunbeams class.
During our final class before Christmas we shared our performance of "The Christmas Bears" with parents, brothers and sisters and all the children did really well!
We are not a Drama school, we use Drama to support in building other skills, chiefly confidence in the young people we work with. The children that performed are aged between 3 and a half and seven years. Most of them have never performed in front of an audience, never needed to learn lines or remember stage directions. Everyone of them has worked hard to prepare and almost all of them got up, on the day, and performed brilliantly. And while our youngest member, only part of the team for 3 weeks, chose not to perform he still knew his lines and moves and has grown in confidence even in that short time.
We didn't just have performers, one of our young people took on the role of stage manager, she knew everyone's lines and moves and was ready at all times to give a missed line or cue. That job took courage and concentration. Well done! Some of the children were nervous and some of them were so excited they were actually bouncing around in the final rehearsal. All of them should be massively proud of themselves, we are.
Here are some of photos from our dress rehearsal and final warm up for you all to enjoy.
Our new term starts on Thursday 5th Jan, 4.30pm in Morriston and we have some spaces available if you know of a child aged between three and a half and eight years that would like to build their confidence, team work, problem solving skills, make new friends and most importantly have fun drop us a message or call Jo on 07853258872.
