Welcome to Shine Drama Workshops
Providing tailor-made workshops that enhance, enrich and educate
Shine Drama Workshops designs and delivers workshops and classes which use Drama and other Expressive arts to enhance and enrich the lives of children across Wales. Whether it be based on a theme or topic being covered in class, a story or novel, PHSE, a special celebration, PPE cover or training for staff.
Each session supports the Expressive Arts Area of learning giving children opportunities to create, explore and respond to their own and others Drama. Workshops are practical, energetic and fun and each is individual. We tailor make every workshop we deliver for you and your pupils needs.
We pride ourselves on our excellent knowledge of the curriculum. Our Principal, Jo Wright, is a qualified teacher with a specialism in Drama and 15 years experience . We work with children aged 2- 16 years , in and out of school, providing workshops that suit the individual group at that point in their educational journey.
We believe that Drama can be used as a tool to enhance knowledge and develop skills in problem solving, team work and debating as well as building confidence and self - esteem. Every workshop crosses the curriculum, supporting other areas of learning. We prepare young people to be active members in society that can see a variety of viewpoints and make their thoughts and beliefs understood by others.
We can run sessions for schools, museums and for children that are homeschooled .
In addition, we run very popular weekly Drama and confidence classes for children aged two to eight years in Swansea which can also be booked for your school or educational venue.
Have a look around our website for more information on what we offer and how we can support you.
"I worked with Jo as a teacher of Drama for over 7 years. She is an outstanding practitioner who has an excellent rapport with young people. I worked under her as my manager and Head of Drama for many years and she was a constant source of support and guidance. Anyone would be lucky to be taught by Jo. For years, she developed and led a successful department guiding students through their GCSEs and A levels. If you are looking for someone to help you set up a programme for drama or to deliver practical workshops and develop your understanding of how to teach this amazing subject, Jo is the person you want!"
